GRANCARE

GRECO RISERVE DOCG

Grancare is the Greco di Tufo Reserve of the Estate, a faithful expression of the union between the Greco grape and the Irpinia territory. This selection is also designed to mature over time with fermentation and aging in wood that enhances its structure, aromas, flavors and longevity.

Grape variety: 100 % Greco.

Production area: Vineyards are located in the highest areas of the municipalities of Santa Paolina and Montefusco.

Type of soil: Mainly clayey and silty with good limestone and presence of volcanic elements.

Vinification: The grapes, harvested by hand around mid-October, are pressed whole and the must is cold decanted and followed by alcoholic fermentation which takes place partly in French oak barrels and the remaining part in steel. The wine is aged on its fine lees in wood and steel and finally matures at least 6 months in bottle.

Organoleptic characteristics

Color: Straw yellow color with golden reflections.

Bouquet: Aromas of yellow peach, tropical fruit, aromatic herbs, with mineral notes that give way to elegant notes of white pepper and powder. Over the years the aroma of Greco will become more complex, with aromas of ripe exotic fruit, candied fruit and notes of dried fruit.

Taste: Intense flavor, ample and fine with fruity and mineral notes. Long persistence. Perfect balance between freshness and flavor.

Food pairings: This wine pairs well with well-structured dishes based on meat or fish: blue fish, cod, fried fish, also ideal for ethnic dishes, vegetable soups and medium-aged cheeses. The wine, in a more mature version, will be perfect with tasty main courses based on fish or dishes with a strong aromatic set based on porcini mushrooms and truffles. Serve at a temperature of 12-14°C.

Longevity: 20 YEARS
