The Loggia del Cavaliere is a wine with a strong personality and complex structure. This Reserve is a clear corporate expression of pure Aglianico. A product strongly desired by the same Knight Angelo Pepe, faithful to the ancient traditions of Irpinian viticulture and the territory.

Contiene solfiti, Contains Sulfites, Enthält Sulfite, Contient des sulfites, Bevat Sulfieten, Indeholder Sulfitter, Innehaller Sulfiter

Grape variety: 100 % Aglianico.

Production area: Carazita, Pesano and Brussineta are the vineyards of the denomination located in the municipalities of Luogosano and S. Angelo all’Esca, at 450 m above sea level.

Type of soil: clayey-calcareous soil and evident volcanic outcrops.

Vinification: The healthiest grapes, left to ripen last, are harvested by hand in the first days of November, transported to the cellar and carefully selected before being destemmed. The fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in small steel tanks and maceration on the skins for about a month with manual pumping over and punching down. It ages in barriques and large French oak barrels for 24 months, for another 24 months in cement tanks and finally for at least 18 months in bottle.

Organoleptic characteristics

Colour: Deep ruby red with garnet reflections.

Bouquet: Notes of ripe fruit, black cherry, blackberries, dried plum, with elegant hints of violet, antique rose, musk and leather. Nutmeg and toasted wood complete the bouquet together with a touch of licorice and aromatic herbs.

Taste: Full, enveloping, of great balance with silky tannins, and excellent very persistent and intense finish of berries and spices.

Food pairings: It goes particularly well with all kinds of well-structured cuisine, with regional dishes based on meat and succulent sauces, game, stews, lamb and aged cheeses. Uncork and decant the bottle an hour before. Serve at a temperature of 18°C.
