Opera Mia is the result of the vinification of pure Aglianico grapes from the vineyards of the best localities of the Taurasi DOCG denomination.

Grape variety: 100 % Aglianico.

Production area: Carazita, Pesano and Brussineta are the vineyards of the denomination located in the municipalities of Luogosano and S. Angelo all’Esca, at 450 m above sea level.

Type of soil: clayey-calcareous soil and evident volcanic outcrops.

Vinification: They are harvested when fully ripe, transported to the cellar where they are carefully selected before being destemmed. The fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature and the maceration “on the skins” lasts for about 20 days.

After fermentation, it ages in French oak barrels for 12 months, in cement tanks for another 24 months and finally for at least 12 months in bottle. 

Organoleptic characteristics

Color: Deep ruby red with garnet reflections.

Bouquet: The wine has aromas of red fruits and ripe berry fruits, black cherry, blueberry. It is completed with floral notes of violet and dried rose, balsamic and spicy black pepper, coffee and chocolate.

Taste: Complex, full and balanced with a good minerality and a fine and elegant tannic structure. The sip ends with intensity, with fruity and spicy notes.

Food pairings: It goes particularly well with fillets, ribs, veal or beef steaks, with all red meat dishes roasted in the oven, on a spit or grilled also prepared with spicy or slightly spicy sauces. It is ideal to uncork the bottle an hour before or decant it at the moment, before serving the wine. Recommended temperature of 18°C.
